On Father’s Day We Remember
My Zayde (grandfather) love the poem, “It Couldn’t Be Done,” by Edgar Guest because he believed that there was nothing you couldn’t do if you tried.
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
When I get frustrated and annoyed with myself and the world around me, I have to remind myself of this poem and the man who influenced me (and my mom.) Today, on this Father’s Day, I am proud to say I am following my heart, my dreams, my passions, to prove to myself and others that despite those that said I couldn’t do it, I can!
